Park View 6 – NKEC 4
On Friday night in Canning, the home-side Titans took on the Park View Panthers. This game was part of the NKEC food drive and the Titans would like to thank all of the fans and community members who supported such a worthy cause.
The Titans knew they had to come out fast against the Panthers, as in their first meeting Parkview had their way with the Titans. The first period was a high-scoring affair with both teams scoring 3 goals each. The speed of the game was fast and the action was back to back. The first period goals for Parkview were scored by Ryan Jensen and (2) by Nathan Lambourne. The Titans goals were scored by Harrison Seaman, Kitch Brawn and Peter MacDougall.
The second period had the Titans come out flying and controlling much of the play, but were unable to put anything past Charlie Whitty. At around the 10-minute mark of the period Park View began taking it to the Titans and the home side were sent scrambling. Park View was able to capitalize a couple more times in the period by goals from Fischer Genge and Lambournes third of the night. The second period ended with the Panthers leading 5 - 3.
The third period was merely a microcosm of the game where both teams were able to hold onto portions of the play. Each team were able to pot a goal each and the final score was 6-4 for the visiting side. The third period goals were scored by Fischer Genge and for the Titans, his first of the year, Jonny Petrie.
All in all, it was a well-played game with very few penalties.

Central Kings 4 – Park View 3
The Central Kings Gators and the Park View Panthers faced off in a Saturday night showdown that certainly didn't disappoint as the game produced 60 minutes of very exciting hockey.
Adam Meister of the Gators struck first on a nice pass from Chase Balsor. With the Gators up 1-0 the first period went back and forth with teams trading chances, however, it was goaltenders Owen Lockwood and Brendan Knox stealing the show making numerous unbelievable saves. The Panthers evened things up late in the first when Nathan Culbert deflected a point shot by Mitch MacIntosh which found the back of the net. Second period goals by Mitch MacIntosh and Brett Risser allowed the panthers to carry the play, however a late goal by Nathan Shurman brought the Gators right back into it, setting the stage for a very exciting third.
In a third that saw the Panthers killing of three consecutive penalties, and Owen Lockwood making numerous unbelievable saves, the Gators finally evened it up when Connor Hanninen found the back of the net. The game remained knotted at 3 until the 1:49 mark when the league’s leading scorer Sam Rogers broke in all alone on a feed by Cody Hebb beating Lockwood with what would prove to be the game winner. With time dwindling, and the net empty, the Panthers had some nice scoring chances but could not beat Brendan Knox who stood his ground allowing the Gators to skate away with the 4-3 win.

Timber Cup Tournament
The Yarmouth Vikings and Par-en-Bas Sharks hosted the Timber Cup Tournament over the weekend. Also participating from our league were Avon View, Clare, Digby and West Kings.
Avon View and PEB had a very exciting semi-final that had to be decided by a shootout with the 3-2 win going to Avon View.
In the other semi-final, it was also a tight game. Yarmouth was defeated by Bay View 4-1, but it was a 2-1 game with only 2:24 left in the game. It was a great rebound for the Vikings from a loss they had to Bay View in the round-robin.
Avon View lost to Bay View 4-0 in the championship game, but the Avalanche had a very exciting 2-1 win over Bay View in the round-robin, to finish the round-robin in first place.
From the Sharks and Vikings, thanks to the league teams that participated in the tournament.
