Boys league Jan. 6-8 weekend recaps
Game recaps are sent in by the home teams and are posted based on when they are received and coupled with the availability of the webmaster. Just a note, not all home teams have been submitting game recaps this season.
CENTRAL KINGS 3 – WEST KINGS 2
This Jan. 7 game was the second match up of the season between these two rival teams, with West Kings having taken the first game in Kingston earlier in the season.
In this second league game, West Kings was first on the score sheet at 9:54 of the first period with a goal from Beresford, chipping in a rebound off a hard low shot from the corner (Beresford, from Leonard, Barron). West Kings scored again at the 6:37 mark with Beresford winning a faceoff in the CK end, back to Bushell, who scored a beauty top corner on CK.
At the end of first period, SOG were WK 8, CK 7.
CK got the scoring started in the second period at the 17:54 mark on a two-on-one with Wood trying to move the puck to White which bounced back to his stick for a tap-in (Wood, from White, Balsor). CK was back on the score sheet at the 6:33 mark with Hebb passing to Meister from behind the net to even the score at two (Meister, from Hebb).
End of second period: SOG WK 15, CK 22
CK got the final goal of the game at the 8:13 of the third period with Langille tapping in a rebound off a shot from the point (Langille, from Balsor, Wood).
This was a very spirited back and forth game between these two teams, well done.

PAR-EN-BAS 8 – DIGBY 1
On Sunday, Jan. 8, the Mariners were the away team for a change at the Mariners Centre.
The Sharks came out quick, but could not solve the Digby Mariners goaltender Eric Dickie. Finally, after numerous attempts, the Sharks started the scoring halfway through the first period with a goal by Blake Newell. Lucas Cottreau would get his first of three on the night 4 minutes later. The Mariners did not let up and scored with a minute left in the first with a goal by Brett Hall.
In the second, the Sharks tried everything they could to solve Dickie but he stood tall in his net and limited the Sharks to 3 goals in the second. The Sharks would score 3 more in the 3rd to make the final 8-1 for Par-en-Bas.
Miguel Surette got the win for the Sharks in the net.
Scoring for Digby was Brett Hall.
Scoring for Par-en-Bas were Lucas Cottreau (3), Blake Newell (2), Alyre Richardson, Carson d’Eon and Riley Hubbard (1). Both teams face off against each other again on Feb. 19.
