Welcome back to another school year, which also means that another high school hockey season is around the corner.

A league meeting for coaches and managers of the teams is happening Sunday, Sept. 18 to help shape out the upcoming season.

Important dates to keep in mind:

• Friday, Sept. 16: Hockey season begins and tryouts can get underway. No planned activities prior to this date.

• Monday, Oct. 17: You can start playing games. No games before this date, which includes no exhibition games.

• Tentative start to the VHSHL boys’ season schedule: Friday, Oct. 21, with the option to start earlier in the week if teams want to begin play.

• Regionals are to be completed by:

-Div. 1:  Feb 25

-Div. 2: Feb 26

• March 3-5 boys’ provincials. Div. 1 is in Capital. Div. 2 is in Highlands (Cape Breton).
