Congrats to the PEB Sharks on Provincials win
The Par-en-Bas Sharks are the 2022-2023 School Sport Nova Scotia (SSNS) Division 2 provincial hockey champions.
The Sharks won the provincials title with a 4-1 win over the Central Kings Gators at D2 provincials on March 6.
The Sharks had gone undefeated at provincials, with an 8-1 win over SAERC; a 5-1 win over Richmond; and a 2-1 win over Central Kings in the round robin.
In the semi-final, the Sharks defeated Sommet Mosaique 4-3 to advance PEB to the all-VHSHL final.
The Central Kings Gators, also in the championship final, brought home provincials silver.
Also competing at D2 provincials from the VHSHL league were the NKEC Titans and the Barrington Barons.
“This team was a close family from the start,” said PEB head coach Julien Boudreau. “We compete hard for the logo on the front and not the individual.”
“The Timber Cup victory (in December) showed the boys that we are a top team in our league. We went to Cape Breton on Thursday, March 2, in order to beat the storm. It was a long, few days in the hotel but the team bonding really brought us closer,” he said.
“In provincials it was a team effort. Everyone did what was needed and the entire coaching staff could not be prouder of this group. Great season, great kids and great end!”
