The contest between Team West and Team East during the Valley High School Hockey League’s boys all-star game on Jan. 29 stayed tight throughout the game, with Team East winning the game 3-2 during 3-on-3 overtime.

During the game Team West had opened the scoring in the first period but Team East also made it to the scoreboard, not long after. Ther period ended in a 1-1 tie.

It was a similar scoring trend in the second period with Team West going up by a goal to make it a 2-1 game and Team East answering quickly to knot the game again, making it a 2-2 game after the second frame.

Neither team scored in the third period in front of a large Mariners Centre crowd in Yarmouth, forcing the game into overtime.

Team West goal scorers were Owen Fitzgerald (YCMHS) and Brett Hall (Digby).

Team East goal scorers were Cohen Perry (FH), Cohen Westlake (PV) and Aidan Meister (CK) with the game winner on a pass by Dylan Rafuse (FH).
